OZONE
Q. What is Ozone?
A. Ozone is an unstable blue gas with a very characteristic odor that is easy to recognize. Ozone is the 2nd strongest oxidizer known to exist, second only to fluorine. As an oxidizer ozone works 3,125 times faster than chlorine.
The ozone molecule is so unstable that it quickly breaks away from the other oxygen atoms. These lone oxygen atoms go in search of other atoms to re-form into oxygen. As soon as it comes across a carbon or sulfur molecule, it breaks into that molecule destroying it in the process. Free oxygen atoms are highly reactive and they will oxidize almost anything (including bacteria, virus, organic and inorganic compounds) this contact, makes ozone an enormously powerful disinfectant and oxidizer. As we know that most indoor air pollutants are carbon and sulfur based, ozone will attack them, leaving only oxygen in their place. Ozone is a much stronger oxidizer than other common disinfectants such as chlorine and hypochlorite. The usage of chlorine in many countries has been decreased significantly due to the possible formation of carcinogenic by-products during the disinfection process. Ozone disinfection does not produce any harmful residues, and all the residual ozone will be converted back to oxygen in a short time. Ozone is considered an environmentally friendly disinfectant.
Q. What is Ozone Blasting?
A. Ozone Blasting is also known as Ozone Shock Treatment. It is an effective method of permanently eliminating odors caused by Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and has been shown to kill mold and other harmful substances. There are a number of applications of Ozone Blasting. It eliminates the smell from cigarette smoke to pet odors and refreshes the home.
Q. Which are the other areas of ozone applications?
A. We also provide the services to treat the following:
Fungus, bacteria, virus, germs, yeasts, smoking odors and cooking odors, animal odors, pet’s urine & feces odors, and obnoxious smells, yeast, paint, Pollens, mildew and smoke odor distress. Scientific studies show that these indoor air pollutants can cause humans to have moderate to severe health reactions.
Q. How long does it take to clean with ozone?
A. Most properties can be cleaned in four to six hours. The time taken depends on the size of the affected area and the nature of the problem.
Q. Am I or any other family allowed to be in the property during ozone treatment?
A. Not at All! The people, pets or plants cannot remain in the property during the treatment time.
Q. Can ozone hurt me?
A. Yes, if you are not trained and experienced. High levels of ozone can injure and irritate breathing in humans. This is why no people, pets or plants can remain in the home or building during our treatments.
